Metropolitan Brass

Metropolitan Brass (SA) Inc has a proud history dating back to 1883 when we were first formed as the Locomotive Band. Since then we have been known by such names as: The South Australian Railways Institute Brass Band, The Australian National Institute Brass Band and The TransAdelaide Brass Band.

We have been and continue to be a active community band with appearances in Christmas Pageants across the state, community events such as ANZAC Day remembrances along with concerts and fund raising events for charities. Currently, the band is a non-competing C grade band. As part of our band's program we have a Oompah style German band called "die Eisenbahn Spieler Oompah Band" which is also active in events such as The Tour Down Under and The Heysen Festival.

We draw players from as far north as Gawler to Morphett Vale in the south. We would welcome any new members to our rehearsals under our Deputy Musical Director Neil Edwards. Die Eisenbahn Spieler Oompah Band is conducted by Music Director Ben Pech.

Currently, Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 8.00pm at the Torrens Transit Bus Depot, cnr Morphett Road & Oaklands Road, Morphettville South Australia.
