The Redbacks enjoy a high profile in the South Australian Community as both a marching band and a concert band. A member of the Banksia Park Concert Band group, the band is ably led by David Gardiner who is, himself, a product of the Banksia Park program.

Best known as a Marching Band, they are a highlight at events such as the Credit Union Christmas Pageant, and other Christmas pageants from as far apart as Victor Harbor to Port Pirie, the ANZAC Day march through Adelaide's city streets and in 2003, were a crowd favourite at the International Police Tattoo. In recent years, they have enjoyed moderate success at the Easter Nationals.

The Redbacks are made up largely of teen and young adult age groups, with a sprinkling of more mature experience.

Rehearsal for the Redbacks is held every Monday evening at the Banksia Park Primary School and new players are always welcome.
