UNLEY CONCERT BAND Unley Concert Band

The Unley Concert Band is one of the most successful community bands in South Australia, performing a full programme of concerts, contests ( A Grade in SA, B Grade at Nationals), and tours each year - including Ballarat in 2008, and the Sydney Nationals and France in 2009.

The Band rehearses and performs under the direction of Dr Kevin Cameron – Principal Conductor of the Band of the South Australia Police.

The following vacancies currently exist in the only brass band in the Adelaide Hills. Awarded SA Band of the Year for 2005 and 2006, the Hahndorf Town Band enjoys an active profile within the local community and beyond, and is also a regular C-Grade contesting band. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening commencing at 745pm. in the Band's own Hall facilities, located at 15 Balhannah Road, Hahndorf, just 15 minutes from Adelaide, up the South Eastern Freeway!:

Campbelltown City Band02  Torrens Brass Learners Band

 

 

 

An enthusiastic Musical Director is required for Torrens Brass Learners Band. It’s the start of the University year and our current MD, Sarah Butler finds she is a bit overstretched and has to give up something so she can survive.

Torrens Brass has around 15 young learners and a number of adults and can provide quite a nice balanced sound from cornets to tuba even though everyone is learning.

It would be nice if the prospective leader had teaching experience or training or was perhaps doing a music training course at the Uni.

A satisfactory recent Police Check will be required.

Practices are held Wednesdays during school terms from 6pm – 7pm at the Campbelltown Memorial Hall, cnr. Lower North East Rd and Darley Rd, Paradise.

A small allowance is paid to assist with expenses.

Musical Director - Dawn to Dusk

Dawn to Dusk is one of the junior bands of the program, aimed at upper primary and lower secondary students who have played a musical instrument for at least one year. A detailed job description is available and a modest honorarium applies to this position. Musical Director - Adult Learners

A musical director is sought for an adult learner group to be formed in early 2008. The group will consist of a wide range of ages, and most of the members will commence with very little prior musical experience. Individual mentors will be available to assist these members. K & N Brass, SA's most successful ‘A’ Grade band, advises there are vacancies for two back row Cornet players.

The band is currently preparing for the Victorian and SA State Championships, as well as exciting recording and concert projects. The band is also planning to travel to Melbourne for the 2007 Australian National Band Championships.

The band rehearses on Monday and Thursday nights between 8-10pm in Norwood.

City of Holdfast Bay Concert Band on recruitment drive.

The City of Holdfast Bay Concert Band is on a recruitment drive, seeking both brass and woodwind players.

History

In 1983 the band was formed as the City of Brighton Concert Band. Since then the band has worked under some very talented musical directors and has competed in the National Band Championships coming first in B Grade for 3 consecutive years, from 1991 - 1993. Due to the amalgamation of the Brighton and Glenelg Councils, the band was renamed as the City of Holdfast Bay Concert Band in January 1997. The band is a community band supported by revenue from concerts, fundraising activities, members subscriptions, the Lions Club of Brighton and by the City of Holdfast Bay Council. The Musical Director is Danny Dielkens. Danny plays soprano with K&N, lead trumpet in the Australian Army Band and the Bob Johnson big band. He is a trumpet teacher at Sacred Hart and junior band teacher with the Mitcham brass band.

Rehearsals

The band rehearses on Friday nights, 7.30 – 10.00pm in the City of Holdfast Bay Music Centre, Lipson Avenue, Seacliff.
